2. Website delivery and hosting

This website is provided through ChatGPT Sites. The provider for users in the European Economic Area is OpenAI Ireland Ltd., Ireland. OpenAI and hosting providers engaged by OpenAI process the data technically required to deliver, protect and reliably operate this website.

This may include the IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, referrer URL, browser type, operating system, device and connection information. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the secure, reliable and user-friendly provision of my portfolio.

Data is processed only for as long as required for operation, security and error analysis, or for longer where required by law. Processing outside the European Economic Area cannot be excluded and takes place subject to the applicable data-protection safeguards.

3. Contact

The contact field on this website does not transmit data to a website server. Submitting it opens the email application configured on the visitor’s device with a prepared message.

If you then send me an email, I process your details to answer the enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is responding to your enquiry. Messages are deleted once they are no longer required, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Embedded videos (YouTube and Vimeo)

Videos from YouTube and Vimeo are embedded on individual work pages. The YouTube provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and YouTube videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com. The Vimeo provider is Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, 10th Floor, New York, New York 10001, USA. Simply opening a work page does not establish a connection to either video provider. The relevant player is loaded only after you have expressly consented to that provider through the choice displayed on the page.

After consent, your IP address, device and browser information and details of the page visited may be transmitted to Google or Vimeo. The relevant provider may store information on your device or access information already stored there. If you are signed in, the provider may associate the visit with your account. Processing is based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Further processing is carried out under the relevant provider’s responsibility and may include transfers to third countries. Your choice is stored only locally in your browser so it can be respected on other work pages. You can reset it at any time via “Video settings” in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

5. External links and social media

This website links to external services including Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo and Foto. You leave my website only after intentionally clicking such a link. The respective provider is responsible for any subsequent processing.

6. Cookies and analytics

I do not use my own analytics, audience-measurement or marketing software on this website. After your consent, Google, YouTube or Vimeo may use cookies or similar technologies in connection with embedded videos. The locally stored video choice is used only to respect your decision.

7. Retention

Unless a specific period is stated above, I process personal data only for as long as required for the relevant purpose. It is then deleted or anonymised unless statutory retention or evidence obligations apply.

8. Your rights

Subject to the legal requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. For my work based in Berlin, this includes the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
